In my wardrobe lie some clothes,

A few looking brand new for they haven’t been worn,

Some I can’t because the holiday weight shows,

Others, because parents chose,

Some are faded but hold special meaning,

And some just looked different under the shop railing,

I discard few to make way for more,

The old ones lying in a bag with nowhere to go,

Yesterday I came upon a garage sale,

I did not know they take place in a Mumbai lane,

Old clothes sold for lesser prices,

The money finding its way towards good causes,

Mumbai fashion is gleaming with colours of summer,

Give away your dulled hues to make someone elses’ brighter.

2) The garage sale was organized by an NGO called ‘Hamara Footpath’ which is a community effort taking responsibility for children living on the streets of Mumbai.
